I was looking at 10 inch tablets and saw this iRulu. I have never heard of that brand.

Anyone know anything about it or have one?

Thanks,

Jerry

Many thanks. I don't really need one and especially if it causes problems.

Jerry

I've owned one and found it to be a good value for the price. I read both the good and bad reviews from the previous post and it seemed to me the people writing the bad ones were expecting Apple support from a bargain basement tablet. Yeah, their support is lousy. But it you sent an iPad or Nexus tablet in for repair, the repair cost would be several times what these tablets cost. At the price, you could well afford to throw away one that breaks and buy a new one.

Thanks, lewmur,

There were some reviews that rated it highly. I think you are correct. Maybe if you get a faulty one then dump it..

Actually, depending upon where you bought it, if it fails under warrantee, you could still get it replaced. The brand is sold by reputable outlets such as Amazon and Walmart.

The reviews are for a different, older model tablet running Android 4. The model you are looking at is newer and runs Android 5.

I'll see if I can find any reviews for the model you are considering buying.

When researching tablets, I generally look at the display. (I base this on my ASUS 7" Memo which is 1280 x 800). If the display is less than that or equal but a larger 10" screen, I suspect the display won't be as crisp. Since I watch movies, I want a crisp display.

I also want a micro sd slot so I can store movies on it. The internal storage can't hold as amany movies as I can fit on a card and take with me.

I also would not consider a tablet with internal storage less than 16GB because then you can't download many apps.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Screen 10.1" 1024 x 600 TFT LCD for me, that drops it out of consideration; your viewing habits might be different so it might be fine for you.
Micro SD Card Slot that's good
1GB RAM and 16GB ROM that's good But be aware I saw this, there is a lower version with only 8GB and the higher version has 16GB. Check to see if the device has 8 or 16.
This site has 57 reviews but the statistics are strange. Everything "appears" to be 5 stars and 1, 2, 3 4, and 5 stars are all showing 70% which is not possible because that adds up to 350%!
This is the 8GB model.
I totally disagree about the screen resolution. I realize it is paramount in many peoples estimation but I think it is way overrated. People watched TV for decades with less than half that resolution on screens much larger. 1024 X 768 was pretty much standard "high res" on PC monitors as large as 24". You might be justified in saying a tablet in that price range isn't really meant for "streaming video", I think you are absolutely wrong is saying 1024x600 is "unacceptable" on a 10" screen.
Again, I say that FOR THE PRICE, this tablet is a very good value.
I really appreciate the comments. At the price it might be worth a try. I am mostly curious since I have a 9.7 inch iPad Air. Sometimes my curiosity gets the priority.:(
