Thanks réjean!Been reading all about this too. The forums at Apple are a buzz with it and this time they are split .... half taking Apple's side and half taking the user's side. Very interesting development and not in a good way unfortunately. :(Sure hope Apple fixes this quick. Like many others, I can't believe they didn't pick up on this during testing.

The problem appears to affect those who had a guest account enabled before upgrading to Snow Leopard.
So those who were wise enough to do a clean install may never experience this. Most of us who were indoctrinated through fire with Windows already knew this was the best way to do an operating system 'upgrade' ... unfortunately, maybe many Mac only users were not aware of this?

"taking Apple's side" - No freaking way. There is no excuse for destroying a valid users data without any warning when a person is not even logged in as said user.

Exactly, which is why Apple is now off my list of valid pc alternatives. What else did they not pick up?What else do they not give a fig about? Not only will I not buy a new Apple, I am out of the market for their phones/PDA's as well.

Yes, very sad indeed. This was not the time to screw up like this.I hear ya crp. I still use the PPC Mac and Snow Leopard doesn't even work on it LOL!Anyway, it was only people that apparently upgraded instead of doing a clean install AND had a guest account. Which I would never have anyway.

There are some people who will ALWAYS take Apple's side, just like there are some people who will ALWAYS trash Apple. I haven't upgraded to Snow Leopard yet, though I don't have a guest account so it shouldn't be a problem. I will make sure I've got a good backup before I start the process when I get around to upgrading.
