Enlightenment needed!!!

Thought it was time to clear the air (for ME anyways!!!) about video cards and Linux Distros.For now I have NOT installed the  Propriety Drivers or Restricted Drivers - and at this point seem content with what I have.The NON install was the bad taste of these installs - leaving a blank screen.On the "VESA Livecd" install of a couple of PCLinuxOS distros - we ended up with a "CUSTOM" driver and all I set were the resolutionsOn a "AUTOMATIC - Livecd Install am shown the driver like nVidia or Intel and AGAIN - I have NOT gone for the Propriety Driver. and just set the resolutions.Contentment seems to reign --->>>FOR NOW  :hysterical: For INFO - on this Intel Quad the Video driver show is - Intel 810 and later and I have NOT gone tor the recognized driver.Could there be some light shed on this dilema that has bogged me for yearsCheers for yearsColin :hysterical:
