HappyMan
Hey Everyone,For a while, I'd experienced video stuttering in 3D applications and screen savers under WinXP. Frames would either drop or just hitch about every second in frustrating rhythm (I even got a nauseated feeling if I watched it too long). I'd updated drivers repeatedly and checked 3D enthousiast sites to no avail. Then I found the solution. It was the NIC's setting for Connection Type! It was set to AutoSense, and it was robbing a LOT of CPU cycles. I used Device Manager to manually set the property to 100Mbps and the problem disappeared.Detailed Instructions HereI thought I'd share this info just in case others were having the same problem and didn't know where to turn. In fact, I'd long considered begging Scot to look into this problem, but decided he had better things to do.Take care, everyone!
