Bruno
Hi DaleDid you look in the package manager if there was a package available ? Or is there a Debian ( .deb ) package that would fit on your system ? . . . This because tackling a tar.gz can be pretty difficult. If there really is no other way and the .tar.gz is the only option ( can't imagine that it is though ) have a look in the unzipped directory, there sure will be a "README" (text)file or and "INSTALL" (text)file where it explains how to install that particular package.Every "tarball" has its own particularities and has to be handled in another way . . . this is why the chance on a successful install is pretty slim if you do not know Linux at "university-level" . . . . Peachy
Look in the source directory and double-check that the name of the file is configure. Perhaps it's just config.

Bruno
it is here:/usr/src/eDonkey2000You were in the directory before . . . because your quote says: XANS87YUH33:/usr/src/eDonkey2000# lsSo you have to be in that directory . . . OR when in your /home do:/usr/src/eDonkey2000/runDonkey.sh That should work too . . Bruno
