In the latest SNFL newsletter, the patch below was listed. Does your wireless router need to support this ?. I have the Linksys BFSR 802.11b wireless router with Linksys's 802.11b PCMCIA card in a Toshiba Satellite laptop. The laptop is running XP home sp1.Any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance,Windows XP Support Patch for Wireless Protected AccessThis update provides support for Wireless Protected Access, a new standards-based wireless security solution developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance.Q815485_WXP_SP2_x86_ENU.exe

Good question, and I should probably have spent more time and ink on this in the newsletter. This knowledgebase article about the new WPA security update:Overview of the WPA Wireless Security Update in Windows XP:http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=815485says pretty clearly:Changes Required to Support WPAWPA requires software changes to the following: - Wireless access points - Wireless network adapters - Wireless client programsThat means you need to contact Linksys (in your case) for software updates before you install the patch.-- Scot
