Scot
Can anyone edify me about their personal experiences with using the Vine Server on the Mac and the VNC client under Windows to access Macs remotely? Thanks in advance for any help or info.-- ScotP.S. I'm have a blast learning everything about the Mac! It's all changed -- and much better -- since my last tour of duty with the Mac in the middle 90s. jrock
I was crusing through and found your post on something I'm starting to work on myself. I just installed Vine Server to our iBook and RealVNC Viewer on my WinXPSP2 machine. It works, but their is definitely some lag in dragging windows and sometimes display. Did you find the same thing? I thought maybe more RAM on either, or both, machines might help. The iBook only has 512MB. I'm working on the switch over to Mac OSX myself. While I don't have the funds for a new PowerBook at the moment, I thought I would test out working in OSX through VNC. It's been busy, so I haven't actually started working in the Mac, but at least I can see it and use it.Haven't had a chance to read "Turning over a new leaf Part II", but I'm anxious to see where you are thus far on the migration. Good luck! Hope you're doing well.Julio Can anyone edify me about their personal experiences with using the Vine Server on the Mac and the VNC client under Windows to access Macs remotely? Thanks in advance for any help or info.-- ScotP.S.
