So what were you doing around this time 50 years ago ?

Me I was watching the JFK drama and bemoaning the fact that I was not allowed to watch Dr Who.

I missed the re run in 1981 so I had to wait till this week to watch it for the first time. an it was good.

Well worth the wait. Good old auntie beeb also commissioned a special called An Adventure In Time And Space which showed how the Dr series all started. A pretty interesting program and well worth a watch.

Also this week we had the 50th anniversary special episode of Dr Who. It was a little complicated I guess for non fans but I thought it was very good.

The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London's National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor's own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.

An there was a little extra fillip, The Night of The Doctor,

Starring Paul McGann, this BBC iPlayer exclusive will for the first time ever reveal what became of the 8th Doctor. On the eve of his most terrible battle, the Time Lord is faced with a choice that will change the course of his life. The darkest of days are about to begin.

Strange how time tide and buttered eggs go on forever.

‘It all started out as a mild curiosity in a junkyard,’ he remarked of his own travels to his early companions, adding, ‘And now it's turned out to be quite a, quite a great spirit of adventure, don't you think?’ Dr Who 1963.

I was 8 1/2 and was also watching the tragic events unfolding in Dallas, Texas when our President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

Dr. Who didn't happen till the early 80s for me where I first fell up on it on WOR or PBS on a 13" Black and White portable TV on rabbit ears at that time. First one I ever watched was Black Orchid which was with Peter Davidson as The Doctor (The Fifth Doctor).

After that I kept trying to find Dr. Who, and watched whenever I could. For the most part the ones I saw were with The Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker who fast became my favorite. But I love them all.

Fifty years ago today I was on my honeymoon driving from New Orleans to New York. I got married the day after JFK was killed. I was getting a speeding ticket when I heard about the assassination. It came over the motorcycle cops radio while he was writing the ticket.

Sounds like a take from a movie.

Congratulations on the anniversary. :Laie_95:

Did the cop carry on writing?
