Prompted by a number of readers, I’ve decided to include also the big, well-known memory hogs that grab most of the Linux market, i.e. KDE, Unity and Gnome 3. Great pair of articles on wm's. I was going to say I wonder why he did not list Xmonad but then I seen this comment: you should add xmonad, it is like awesome but a bit more powerful imho. I’ve tried it, it wouldn’t run. It could be a problem with the package distributed by Ubuntu 12.04, it was complaining about some executable missing. sunrat Posted May 4, 2013 Share Posted May 4, 2013 Interesting article. I just tried antiX in VBox, the whole distro started in about 50MB memory (OpenBox). Nice.
