We try to avoid the word "newbie" and "noob"  it does no justice to the efforts we, also the beginners, put in to learn a new operating system. I think the wish to learn Linux shows a brave attitude and deserves a better qualification.  --Bruno

Great BrunoMy weakest area in Linux is the command line, always hated DOS and avoided it. One thing tho with Debian is I find myself using the command line more than I ever have, which is a good thing.

I like to do things the easy way but some of those command lines are the easy way. Just like burning a CD is done before K3B gets around to loading. I know I am ancient compared to some but I was using a computer every day for many years before there was a gui loader. I thought it was advanced to have a bat file give you a list to select from when starting a program.[red] <Turn your back Bruno and don't listen> [/red] I tend to be doing more things in command line because it is fater once the commands become natural. SonicThanks for quoting the snippets. Love em. If I wore t-shirts those would be some perfect sayings to wear. :D--Julia :D
