Help me, guys! ever since I installed Linux, I can't stop thinking about it, I always boot up in Linux instead of Windows, and I sometimes just stare at every icon and click on every program, most of time with my jaw dropped! And at work, where i'm forced to use a Windows system, all I do is visit Linux website and this forum and then wait til 4pm so i can go home and try this and that in linux. thanks guys, now i'm a penguin geek. How can i go back to windows and not think of what i could be clicking in Linux? is it possible? could that be what that SCO lawsuits are about, because Linux is too good to stop any other way?

Lol. I have to admit...I am hooked. Since I finally got the NIC situation taken care of Monday, there has been no looking back. I think with the latest round of distros, Linux has become ready for the desktop. It has finally made it over the hump. I have not been this into just being in front of my computer in a long time. All I can say to people who have been resisting is, in the almost words of Blue Oyster Cult:Come on baby... Don't fear the PenguinBaby take my hand... Don't fear the PenguinWe'll be able to fly... Don't fear the Penguin

 Muhahaha!!! My evil plan is working. Soon the whole world will be overrun with Penguins!
So you're the one behind all this!!! So is Bruno just a pawn in your giant game?? Keeping the Peach picture (trying to run this thing in stealth mode, huh?) Why don't you just throw off that disguise and show yourself!!!

You know, Stryder, I'll be most people on this board have no idea what song you're talking about, or even who Blue Oyster Cult is! I guess that makes us old.

Hehe.. I am still in between two worlds.. It does get you hooked up from time to time, but then again.. I use my laptop more often than desktop, and the laptop is running Windows almost exclusively, soo... I do have Cygwin installed on all my machines..so I can compile programs in GCC through Cygwin..I have successfully load X11 and KDE 2.x in Cygwin before.. quite a memory hog though

Yes ever since I tried linux years ago I have always like it, but I really should try different distros. and see what they are like. Always been with RedHat, a friend of mine keeps tellin me Debian, but it's not as easy to install as RH.

I had linux installed already and I am glad to see others are now experiencing it. People need to know they are not held down by MS and there are options. Many great people here to help and that really makes a difference for a linux newbie. I know what it is like trying to ask help in linux forums, this place is very user friendly. I spend most of my days in linux now, but still got lots to learn and have learned more about linux in the last month than I have in the last year thanks to those here. Thanks Again

Yes Linux is very addictive....And I'm having a blast becoming that way(Plus I can remember what I did...big bonus!!! .. I'm enjoying learning my computers in a more complete way. This group is great too...I like the fact that the advise is written to help where even I can understand it..( you really don't realize what a major accomplishment that is)LOL...I have the only kids in the neighborhood who know who"Tux"is (ages 3,5,7..and each use various linux and open source apps) Hopefully they will grow into knowing there is always an alternative..and hopefully they will understand that learning is a never ending process..and I'm using linux (and tons of help from folks like you ladies and gentlemen)to help teach them that.

I agree, Linux is a wonderful and flexible OS.I found it totally annoying to have to dualboot between Windows and Linux constantly due to my various program needs in both OSes! So, I built a new box for my Linux and but both computers on a KVM switch. Now I have both OSes running all the time ... I will never be able to go back to using just Windows ever again!

Yea..I'm still dual booting..but I have a home network so I can play in various windows version and lunix versions at the same time.( I got into networking before I got into linux).(now to see if I can talk the wife into an APPLE system too!)

Isn't networking great! We have 11 computers all over the house connected together! I just have two in my office area on the KVM switch though.

Yes I love networking,,,we have nine...it's a mixed router to ethernet and router bridged to PNA through a switch to ethernet...Linux doesn't like PNA(or I just haven't figured it out yet  ...) Had to go PNA , my wife won't let me run cat5..but my next projects are a wireless acess point and adding an apple in the loop..He He..that is if my wife will let me..for some reason she get upset when I go near a computer store..Thank god for online buying!!

I know I'm back-tracking a couple of dayz, but after being part of the Acoustic Question, I think there are many of us who know about the Reeper. Seems like The SFNL Forum is reeping a lot of Linux users. I'm happy to be one of the harvested :) :) So maybe the song will be:M$, don't fear the Penguin :)
