Why is it that we can no longer click to go directly to the last post?

It is called progress. 🫣

To be honest, I didn't even notice this before. When we first started using this newer version of the board software a few years back, I set up the "Custom Unread" link to show me all the sub-forums that I follow. I just click on that and all the subs with new posts show up. There is a "click to see latest post" when that happens in the Custom Unread area. Also, much of the time, I just click on the Notifications icon when I first get here and it shows ALL the posts that have happened since my last visit. When I click on one of those notifications, it automatically takes me to the first "new" reply in the thread.

Be patient, @Will Watts is currently working on possibly converting this place to an entirely different (and better) board software... Xenforo.

I just click on the filled circle image.png.6cf86f52dec8c1a4122c7ee6f06051d9.png

if no circle, no new posts since i last entered that thread.

Sometimes it is a star.

An there it was all this time right in front of me face.  I have been puzzling over how to get to the last post ever since the site changed.  Good tip. 😎

An there it was right in front of me all the time. How did I miss it ?

I open up the site at its home page where there is a list of all the different sections. This page shows the last post in the section like so,

24.5k
posts

If you place the mouse pointer over the date "Yesterday at 08:15 PM" (on the home page obviously)and click it will take you to that last entry for that particular thread.  I had forgotten you could do that. 🫣

Whoops. My last post suggested that you could click on the date to get to the most recent post. This is true if there is only one post in the thread. My mistake was to try out my suggestion on a thread that only had one poast so obviously it worked for me. An being a clever git I told you folks about my fab find. S o if there is only one post in a thread my suggestion works. however if there is more than one post in a thread then clicking on the date as advised will only get you to the first post in the thread. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOps sorry folks for raising your hopes. 🤧

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm that is strange. When I wrote this post it was true.

Her we are 19 hours later and ,
