Mint upgrade to 20.3

Coincidentally I just finished downloading Mint 20.3 Mate. Made an image on a

thumb drive and then installed to a new 250GB SSD (Crucial MX500). The

platform is one of my roughly half dozen Dell Precision T3400 work stations.

This is aging hardware circa 2009? Anyway, for me things just went fast and

flawlessly in every way. Fast booting machine now. You gotta love Mint...

Hmmm- But then, later, I had a "wait a minute" moment with Mint 20.3.

It seems they no longer consider it important to include the gimp

graphics tool with Mint. Well, I do. "No problem" I said to myself.

"I'll fire up synaptic and install it". Nope, synaptic said "I got nothing

for you". D'oh!

I had to go to an older box with Mint 17 on it to fire up gimp and get

my small photo editing job done, then import it back onto 20.3

where I was working.

Does anyone know what happened? I consider the dropping of

gimp from Mint not to be a minor glitch, personally.

Oh that was way too easy- is there any way to make it a little harder to do?

Thanks Josh...
