That's strange. I've NEVER, not once in three of four years, seen an email in my Inbox that could be classified as SPAM.

Josh, do you still use ProtonMail? Do you think this article is accurate?

The best email security is just plain ol' PGP w/ Enigmail in Thunderbird. That bad part about that is you must get all your email chums to also use PGP or else it's worthless.

Spammers send from Protonmail, not especially to it.

I have a protonmail address though I rarely use it.

I guess this, in the article says it all

Protonmail Developers Do Not Use Protonmail

I'll see if Bruce  Schneier has any remarks in next month's newsletter.

Interesting comments posted by "TauSigma5" here.

Ah... see, that was one of my problems with this revelation. I could not find any corroborating news stories that didn't name this one source as their source. Good find @saturnian! Thanks. :)

And I still use GMail, too.

I have a very old Gmail account, but all I use it for is to receive newsletters and tech updates. I rarely Send from that account.

Ah... gotcha'! :)

Yup... but there again, I am very skeptical of the source of this story. So far, nothing public posted by ProtonMail to refute any of this. I'm pretty sure they're aware of it by now.

Also, I figure I'm not going to become the next Ed Snowden any time soon, which reminds me of THIS excellent, but quite detailed and long, article re: ProtonMail. Peruse it. It may be worth your time. :)

Ah... gotcha'! :)

I've seen spam logs from Debian User Forums so not making that up

Shame the forum software doesn't do nested quotes any more. Sometimes it is needed for the context.

Spill the beans (magic beans? ). I can't work it out.

Forums are hard difficult.

Heh... when you highlight with your mouse a text in the post you want to quote, the "quote prompt" will pop up. Click it. When you have two or three quotes in your positing area, hover over them to expose an X move icon. Click it and move one quote into another to nest.

Clear as mud, eh? Well, blame that on the bourbon. ;)

Seriously, though, Roger.... if that didn't make any sense, it's OK... it didn't make any sense to me either just now when I re-read it. I'll explain more plainly tomorrow when I'm sober. ;)

Rock on, my Down Under brother!

That nesting method definitely is NOT intuitive. I'd guess that probably 0 people had figured it out so far. I think I found out about it by accident while hovering over one of the quotes in my posting box.

Well, now... I expect to see lots of nested quotes in your replies now. :)

Yes, but you're not "nesting" in the above post. You're just multi-quoting. To nest you have to drag one quote within the other...
