Well first run it as a live environment to make sure it works with your hardware. If so, it would be easier to reinstall as it may be more of a pain to revert.

Thanks for your help. I'll see if I can find one somewhere else because we refuse to purchase from Amazon. 

Staples has some for about $25 C

Well you could google it, that is how I always do verify compatibility. Most will work on linux nowdays though.

That is wrong. Just search the reviews for linux:

 

Plugged this into my PC running Linux (kernel 5.4.3) and it automatically detected it without needing to install any drivers or reboot.
