Thanks. It might go up in the US because Tuesday evening (it is now 11pm Tuesday) they will evacuate US citizens from Wuhan who wish to leave.

Other countries are doing the same.

Oh, boy. What fun. :(

I'm going to have to change my avatar pretty soon...

Thanks. Well, I'm glad I still have a pretty good immune system-
because I expect we all will be exposed to this new beastie
sooner or later. People who are actively shedding virus are
for the most part *totally* non-symptomatic and they have
no idea they are carriers! This one may prove to be less
nasty than the SARS and especially MERS viruses, but make
no mistake, this one is going to kill a lot of older and weaker
folks. Batten down the hatches. Keep alcohol-based hand
cleaner on hand. Use it!

I just read an eye opener which people don't really think about.

In what might be considered a mild flu season in the U.S. this year, the flu virus has already sickened more than 19 million people, hospitalized over 180,000, and killed upwards of 10,000.

So you have more to fear from the flu than the coronavirus. In either case, the message is: keep your hands away from your face nose, eyes and mouth regions especially AND keep washing your hands with soap and water. If that isn't handy, use antibacterial  liquid.

Yeah... I saw a similar posting elsewhere yesterday, but the numbers were a bit different.

Here's EVERYTHING you want to know about this season's influenza statistics, courtesy of the CDC:

People are more afraid of a new threat than an older known one they've got used to. At this point, we're all in more danger from yearly influenza, but many people are totally freaked out by this new corona virus. I get a flu shot each year, but I think a quiet life and little exposure to large groups of people probably has more to do with my not getting the flu than anything else.

It seems that otherwise healthy people who are able to access good medical care are recovering without too much difficulty. Let's hope that continues.
