A Note On Posting Images

Some of you folks are having issues posting images in your posts or your sigline here at the new forums. Actually, when it comes to posting images, nothing has changed from what we used at the old forum.

To post an image:

  • find an image you want to post from any other site on the Internet (hot-linking), Right click on the image and choose Copy Image Location (Firefox-based browsers, not sure how on Edge or Chrome... probably similar, though)
  • In the posting area here at this forum in the lower right corner, choose "Insert other media" and then choose "Insert Image from URL" (Actually, you can paste the raw URL into your post and the board will automatically post it as an image)
  • the proper way (etiquette) is to copy the image to your own computer and then upload it to an image server like Imgur or others, then use their links to post in your postings here on this board

To upload an image from your computer (NOT recommended)

  • uploading images is not recommended because there is a limit (50Kb), which isn't a lot, in order to keep Scot's server from getting polluted with bazillions of bytes' worth of images/files
  • it's much easier and unlimited to post images using the "hot-linking" method above

And there you have it... Questions?
