Dev channel update to 89.0.752.1 is live

Added features:

  • Added an option to Share, Copy and Paste Settings to disable enhanced link copying for links on webpages.
  • Added filtering capability to Price Comparison.
  • Added an icon to the PDF toolbar for Find On Page.
  • Added support for verifying digital signatures of PDFs on Mac.  Note that this feature is still behind a flag.

  • Added the Collections item to the … menu in InPrivate windows since Collections are now supported in InPrivate.
  • Improved the Cookies In Use dialog to show more information about a given cookie.
  • Added a management policy to manage the Smart Actions Block List, which prevents certain context menu actions from being available, and for Windows Hello For HTTP Auth Enabled to control whether or not the basic credential prompt appears for NTLM or Negotiate.  Note that updates to administrative templates or documentation may not be available yet.
  • Enabled support for the management policy from Chromium to configure the Managed Configuration Per Origin for websites installed as apps.

Added features:

  • Added options for a simplified right-click menu for PDFs.  Note that actual changes to the right-click menu are still being rolled out, so these settings may not be functional yet.
  • Added management policies for Quick View Office Files Enabled, which controls whether or not Office files can be opened directly in Edge instead of being downloaded, and for Application Guard Favorites Sync Enabled to control whether or not Application Guard windows should have access to the same set of Favorites as non-Application Guard windows.   Note that updates to administrative templates or documentation may not have occurred yet.

  • Added the ability to start typing to search as soon as the favorites and history menus are open and loaded.
  • Added suggestions from local browsing history when clicking on the empty address bar on the new tab page.
  • Added support for Friendly Names for certificates in the certificate picker.
  • Enabled Single Sign-On for Mac, fixing an issue where certain websites can’t login.
  • Improved messaging when certain permissions are restricted when viewing a protected PDF.
  • Deprecated the management policy to Enable Native Window Occlusion in favor of the newly-added policy to Enable Window Occlusion.  Note that updates to administrative templates or documentation may not have occurred yet.
  • Enabled support for the management policy to control SSL Error Override Allowed For Origins from upstream Chromium.

Dev channel update to 90.0.818.0 is live

This is expected to be the final build for major version 90 and will be sent for beta review soon.  See the blog post for improvements and changes as well as known issues.

Added features:
  • Added the ability to sort overall Collections.
  • Added the ability to drag and drop downloaded files from the list in the Downloads popup into webpages or folders.
  • Added the ability for users to manually search through their autofill data by pressing the / key.
  • Added an option to the Disable Developer Mode Extensions popup to stop showing it.  Note that this popup only appears in Beta and Stable.
  • Finished rolling out the new Downloads popup menu.
  • Finished rolling out Startup Boost.

Major new features include the introduction of built-in Edge themes which are color schemes that can be chosen from edge://settings/appearance and the start of the roll out sign-in and sync for Linux users.

Added features:
  • Added an option to the right-click menu to open the current page in Immersive Reader.  Note that this option is only available on pages that are eligible for Immersive Reader to begin with.
  • Added the ability to use the system theme on Linux.
  • Added a management policy to control opening a PDF in Secure Mode.   Note that updates to documentation or administrative templates may not have occurred yet.

Added features:

  • The PDF mini menu is gaining two new options!  When you highlight a word, you’ll now see an option to search for that word or to define it. Those two options have been promoted from the full context menu due to common use, and you can read more about it here:  https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/articles/introducing-dictionary-for-pdf-mini-menu/m-p/2243276.
  • Added the ability to open the Favorites, History, etc. management pages by clicking the Favorites, History, etc. name at the top of their respective popup menus.
  • Added a setting to control whether or not Sleeping Tabs appear faded.
  • Added a notification to switch profiles when a website or PWA is installed in one browser profile and you try to install the same one again in another profile.  Note that this has been rolling out over the past few weeks, and is now enabled by default.
  • Added a management policy to control if Application Guard Traffic Identification is Enabled, which controls if Application Guard windows send extra headers to identify to web pages that they’re being showing in an Application Guard window.  Note that updates to documentation or administrative templates may not have occurred yet.

  • Added the ability to select and delete multiple passwords at the same time from edge://settings/passwords.
  • Added the ability to quickly toggle between two tabs on Mac via a keyboard shortcut.  Note that this is already available on Windows via Edge’s tab integration into the Alt+Tab switcher.
  • Added a Certificate Management Settings page on Linux.
  • Added a message to explain that Vertical Tabs can’t be collapsed when IE mode tabs are open.

Dev channel update to 91.0.852.0 is live

Added features:
  • Added the ability to open the History, Favorites, Downloads, etc. management pages by middle-clicking or ctrl+clicking their respective buttons on the toolbar or in the browser’s … menu, or by using the new entry in both of their respective context menus.
  • Added a button to the main Feedback dialog to attach files.  Note that this functionality was previously present, but hidden behind the “diagnostic data” link. 
  • Finished rolling out Password Monitor.
  • Enabled Rebates when shopping by default now that it’s completed its rollout.
  • Enabled support for the management policy from Chromium to control the Import Startup Page Settings, which controls whether or not data import from another browser includes importing startup settings.

  • Added a feature flag to enter Immersive Reader automatically when navigating to an eligible page.
  • Improved the … menu in PWAs and websites installed as apps to only show relevant options.
  • Finished rolling out the new Extensions menu, Smart History Search, and Price History.
  • Enabled by default the ability to pin the Favorites, History, etc. menus and have that state remembered, as well as the Collections popup menu.
  • Added management policies to control if the setting for AAD Website SSO Using This Profile is Enabled, the Automatic HTTPS Default setting, if Internet Explorer Integration to Reload In IE Mode is Allowed, the Internet Explorer Integration Local Site List Expiration in Days, and if Local Browser Data Share is Enabled, which controls how Edge shares local user data with the Windows Search Indexer.  Note that updates to documentation and administrative templates may not have happened yet.

  • Added a button on Mac that will directly appear on certain videos to let users enter Picture in Picture mode.
  • Added the ability on Mac to use fingerprint authentication to allow viewing or autofilling a password. 
  • Added the Share option to the … menu in PWAs and websites installed as apps. 
  • Improved inking latency.
