Dev channel update to 84.0.516.1 is live

Added features:
  • Added UI to help enable media casting if users attempt to use it while it’s disabled. Note that casting is currently only supported via ChromeCast devices.
  • Added support for quieter notifications in edge://settings/content/notifications.
  • Improved the UI when picking a certificate to use for website authentication.
  • Added a Website Permissions Settings page for when a website wants to access serial ports.

Build 85.0.564.8 is the final build for major version 85.

Added features:
  • Added a button to the PDF toolbar for highlighting text.
  • Added the ability to undo certain actions in Collections.
  • Added the ability to reorder the extension icons on the toolbar using a keyboard shortcut (Alt + Shift + arrows).
  • Added an option to the … menu for each item that appears on the Downloads shelf to report it as a safe or unsafe file (which option appears is dependent on SmartScreen’s determination of the file’s safety).
  • Added the ability to import certain settings and cookies from Internet Explorer.
  • Added a management policy to Exempt Domain File Type Pairs From File Type Download Warnings. Note that Administrative Templates will come later.
  • Added a management policy to control New Tab Page Allowed Background Types. Note that Administrative Templates will come later.
  • Added a management policy to control pre-rendering of the new tab page. Note that administrative templates will come later.
  • Enabled support for the Chromium management policy for Intensive Wake Up Throttling.

via Twitter and buried in the update for the previous release in the link above, Edge Dev was updated to Build 85.0.564.13:

Today's small update should provide a fix for the issue where some icons are too big.  Additionally, we improved the relevance of Family Safety reporting data, and we fixed an issue where certain management policies like HomepageLocation or NewTabPageLocation stopped working and returned a message that they were blocked.

This is the first release to the Dev channel of Version 86 with a long list of added features:
  • Re-enabled support for searching in the sidebar in PDFs now that the functionality has been fixed.
  • Added the ability to use a custom image as the new tab page background.

  • Added a toggle to the InPrivate new tab page to always use Strict Tracking Prevention in InPrivate.
  • Added support for Read Aloud on PDFs on ARM devices.

Dev channel update to 86.0.594.1 is live

Added features:

  • Added the ability to install themes from the Google web store.
  • Added a flag to that will allow the Backspace key to navigate a webpage back (or forward when combined with Shift). This flag is currently disabled by default and needs to be manually enabled.
  • Added an option in settings to turn off suggestions from history and favorites when searching in the address bar.
  • Added website permissions for virtual and augmented reality.
  • Added a link between the Passwords Settings page and the Password Monitor Settings page.
  • Added a management policy to Save Cookies When Microsoft Edge Closes. Note that this policy is intended to be used in conjunction with policies to clear data when the browser is closed, and administrative templates will be updated later.

  • Added support to Kiosk mode for an automatic browser restart when it’s idle.
  • Enabled support for the Storage Access API. Note that this was previously under a controlled rollout.
  • Enabled a feature from Chromium that forces websites to specify the SameSite=None attribute in order to use third-party cookies. A new feature being rolled out gradually with this update is Sleeping Tabs, nicely explained at Bleeping Computer at Microsoft Edge's new feature will reduce memory and CPU usage.

Note:  This will be the last scheduled release to Dev, Beta, and Stable for the year (small fixes will be published if necessary).  Canary will continue through the holidays.

Added features:
  • Added an indicator to show when a tab has been muted because the underlying system audio has been muted.
  • Added an option to Settings to disable downloading Edge updates over metered connections.  Note that this is currently only available on Windows 10.
  • Added a Setting to disable the F12 entry point to the Dev Tools.
  • Added support for forcing popup windows into new tabs instead in Kiosk mode.
  • Enabled support for the management policies from Chromium to Enable Basic Auth Over HTTP, and that Target Blank Implies No Opener.
