epp_b
Does this happen when you click the middle button anywhere? Just on links? Just on blank areas of webpages? Just on a tab? Just on a an empty tab area space?

jodef
If you type about:config in address bar and scroll down resulting page there is a middlemouse.contentLoadURL maybe this value was accidentally changed.

Neil P
If you typeabout:config in address bar and scroll down resulting page there is a middlemouse.contentLoadURL maybe this value was accidentally changed. middlemouse.contentLoadURL is "true" by default. For some crazy reason. With that as true, clicking the middle button will (try to) load whatever text you have in the clipboard as a URL (remember, highlighting in linux will copy text to the clipboard!)This setting is the first thing I change in a new install of Firefox. That way, I can middle click on tabs to close them!
