V.T. Eric Layton
Finally. I'm finished... all except for the intermittent pop-up bug killing that is required for a few weeks after a major build/OS install like this. Jeeez! I'm tired. I've wasted an entire week of my life getting this thing up and running. I'm not up to these marathon computer projects anymore. G'night all...
V.T. Eric Layton
Today is Day 1 of ericsbane07 just being used in my usual routine way. I fired it up a little while ago. I did my Sunday Slack Sync backups. I'm now surfing a few forums and Google+, then off it goes. . Edited December 6, 2016 by V.T. V.T. Eric Layton
Speaking of that Secret Santa mentioned above, I'm going to C/P the posting that I left at my private forum about that because I am not 100% sure who the Secret Santa (and his/her co-conspirator) really is. So, just in case it's someone from this place, the post below still applies... --- I have a Secret Santa somewhere in the world who was reading this thread (and maybe the one at Scot's) and realized that I needed something to fill out this Frankenputer. Well, I was VERY surprised when I received a package today that contained just such a component. Dear Secret Santa, You shouldn't have, but I sure do appreciate it. One day... ONE OF THESE DAYS, I'm going to be in a position to pay back all the love I've received from friends here, friends near, and friends afar who've made my struggles these last few years a little less burdensome. It would be such a joy to me to be able to do that. It really would. So, one day, when something arrives in your mailbox or is delivered by Western Union or Fed Ex, don't be surprised. Paybacks don't always have to be a birch; sometimes, they're FUN! Anyway, Secret Santa... I'll be installing that thing soon. It has quite a bit more power than my current one. Should be a vast improvement on the system. You know I can't thank you enough. It's probably going to be one of the best things I'll get for Christmas this year. --- The folks I've "met" and interacted with at numerous places on the Internet over the past 15 years or so have truly reinvigorated my feelings about the human race and the kindnesses and largess that can often be displayed by individuals for no other reason than that they are just "good people." If I haven't mentioned it lately, you are ALL special folks. My life would have been substantially diminished had I not had the opportunities to interact with you all... including those special folks who are no longer with us. G'night all...

V.T. Eric Layton
When/If I ever finish the huge STALKER mod that I'm currently playing (Call of Chernobyl, which combines all three STALKER games into one extraordinarily well written/coded monster game on steroids), I'll check out these others you posted here. They look interesting. Currently, though, I'm wasting away my life in front of this soul-sucking box playing STALKER.
abarbarian
Hows the hunt for Santa going ? Did you ferret out his/her identity ? May be he/she was from New Zealand ! http://abcnews.go.co...ory?id=43831553 Nearly 2,000 New Zealand residents signed up for a countrywide “Secret Santa” game this holiday season, continuing an annual tradition in which complete strangers mail presents to each other after learning their interests on social media. Maybe one of them got too drunk and put a USA addy on the parcel instead of a Kiwi one. Edited December 26, 2016 by abarbarian
V.T. Eric Layton
Actually, at first, I thought it was YOU! However, the yellow sticky note on the anti-static bag that the card was shipped in was just signed: "Merry Christmas from the UK" The box had a customs label that was signed "Ian ..." something or other. I couldn't read the last name. I only know two Ians online... Ian Chase (from here at Scot's) and ReleaseRoderick/ReleaseIan (from Avant Browser forums, my Cabin, and here at Scot's). ReleaseIan is in the U.K. However, the reason I said that there must be a co-conspirator in this Secret Santa delivery is because this Ian doesn't have my Real Name® or street address, that I know of. Must contact that fellow at 221B Baker Street and see if he and his partner are available to take a case. . Edited December 26, 2016 by V.T.
