GolfProRM
Why is it that just after you do something, you come up with a much better way to do it? Of course, you then have to go back and try it the new way just to see if it really is better! Argh.. :)Anyway... After getting a fresh install of Mandrake going last night, I realized that I want more harddrive space... I've currently got it installed on a 4Gig harddrive, and don't really like the lack of space... I've decided that I want to chop off some of my 80gig and use it as well... I'm thinking 5-6gig should be enough... I've seen the advice on partitioning, but I was curious as to what to put on which drive to maximize performance... My 80gig is an ATA100 drive and the 4gig is just ATA66 (and 5400RPM too ).Could some one help me decide what to put where?TIA
Bruno
Ryan,I would put / on the fast one, peferably /swap on an otherone as root ( however as you have enough memory the swap will hardly be used ! )Hopes this answers your questionB) Bruno

Bruno
Prelude76You do need /swap, but will never use it ! By default it takes 512 MB /swap, kind of built in the installer. But then you can spare 512 MB can´t you ? Bruno
