say goodbye to email. well, gmail, at least

Recommended Posts

I just wish people would use OpenPGP or GnuPG more and force their friends and family to do the same thing.

Gawd I hate this. Google GMail was supposed to be here forever. This sucks. Can you still use your old GMail addresses with inbox.google.com?

Of course, it just switches your account to inbox but you can still use gmail as well.

Agreed!

Hello,

Of course, you can always download your email via a client like Mozilla Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook, etc., if you don't want to see any advertisements.

I never understood why that went out of style...

I don't have to "check my mail", Thunderbird tells me when I have some e-mail, and my dog tells me when the letter carrier stopped to deliver some snail mail.

That's the ONLY way I get/send email.

Using multiple computers and devices I think started that trend.

Yeah, that has been available since 2011 and you can easily turn off search history.

No, search history has not been available since 2011, this is new. And they are keeping everything, not getting rid of it after a few months or even a few years. So now when people get their ggle accounts broken/hacked into, their rear is grass.

And it is only easy to turn off if you know where the switch is. Is history keeping on by default? (i do not know)

Oh, goody! All those really great porn searches are still available for me. ;)

i'm pretty sure it is just the queries not the results. So all those things you found 5 years are probably gone :)

The only difference is that you can download the history now.

Hello? That is what the article i linked to said. history is now available to anyone who has your ggle email credentials. and i don't think most people realized that they were keeping it forever, not just for months or a couple of years.

I was just pointing out that the history has been available since 2011 or before, but the download history is new.
