Hey it's only DNA. Doesn't mean that the lads were all philanderers. It crops up everywhere. China India Ireland The states . etc etc.

Afraid not so . That was just the one strain . There are five others. I will go back to the book stacks and see if I can find more info.

Just to start there was cro-magnum .neanderthal . and so forth.

Wish my memory was better.

After Homo erectus . 1.8 million years ago There was Homo Heidelbergensis . 600000 years ago .

 

That's the progenitor of the western Homo sapiens. 200000 yrs ago.

 

So we've been around altogether ,including our ancestral primates 2.8 million years.

No. No. No. Nat'l Geo's Genographic Project is ONLY about tracking the DNA ancestry of human beings AKA Homo-sapiens. Those other species you mention, Erectus, Neanderthal, et. al. were not Homo-sapiens.
