V.T. Eric Layton
A Christmas Story is great for laughs, but my real favorites are: A Christmas Carol (1984) w/ Geo. C. Scott as Scrooge and It's a Wonderful Life
Guest LilBambi
Oh, yeah. Definitely great ones Temmu and Eric! Let's also not forget... Scrooged Bill Murray, Karen Allen, John Forsythe, etc.
V.T. Eric Layton
I watched Scrooged last night. I'd never seen it. Myeh... it was OK. The best thing about it was Bobcat Goldthwaite. Whatever happened to that guy, anyway?
Corrine
One of my favorites, Christmas in Connecticut (1945). We watched "Home Alone" and "Home Alone 2" (again) on AMC yesterday & the day before.

Corrine
As much as we enjoyed Home Alone and Home Alone 2, after watching ~1/2 hour of Home Alone 4 (TV Movie 2002) - IMDb, we turned the channel. It just seemed creepy and rather like a poor knock-off. crp
Why isn't this topic called " Christmas Movies " ? While I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much now, 'Die Harder' probably my fav xmas movie with 'Scrooged' and 'Nightmare before Christmas' close. And I would also list the first 2 'Good Eats' xmas themed shows.
Guest LilBambi
I changed the topic, but this was actually about any Winter Holiday movies as well as Christmas.
Guest LilBambi
Just found this when searching on Winter Holiday movies...which is pretty much where I was going too originally with this topic. What are Your Favorite Winter Holiday Themed Movies? - Rope of Silicon I wasn't quite sure how to properly word the headline for this post considering I want to make sure you understand I am talking about the season pretty much running from Thanksgiving to Christmas, but I also want to make sure you know the film itself doesn't have to necessarily be about the holidays. He has a great list of movies too: Take Die Hard for instance, it's set during Christmas time, but it isn't a Christmas film. However, it fits in with what I am looking for here. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Eyes Wide Shut,Fanny and Alexander, Batman Returns, Gremlins, The Thin Manand When Harry Met Sally are other examples. ****, I would even sayRocky IV and Lethal Weapon count. As a matter of fact, I would say the non-Christmas, Christmas movies are the more interesting additions. How about The Shining or even Psycho? Then, of course, I personally love films such as Love, Actually and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. And we can add Edward Scissorhands, A Christmas Story and Elf to the conversation as well as The Family Stone, White Christmas, Home Alone, A Miracle on 34th Street, Scrooged, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Polar Express, The Ref, Bad Santa and The Muppet's Christmas Carol. V.T. Eric Layton
Wasn't Gremlins the one with the really, really young Mariska Hargitay? No. No. That was Ghoulies I was thinking of. I'm easily confused.
