Good band and lovely chaps. I worked with them when they played in Melbourne a couple of years ago. Still sounding great and played their 1965 hit "Rosalyn". 😎

Come on folks lets go out with a bang not a whimper.

Post some songs with titles that reflect the CV-19 disaster.

Guess a lot of folk will be doing this these days,

An one for the NHS and all front line workers,

Lets hope the words of this song apply to all here.

FOREVER YOUNG (Bob Dylan)

May God bless and keep you always,

May your wishes all come true,

May you always do for others

And let others do for you.

May you build a ladder to the stars

And climb on every rung,

May you stay forever young,

Forever young, forever young,

May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,

May you grow up to be true,

May you always know the truth

And see the lights surrounding you.

May you always be courageous,

Stand upright and be strong,

May you stay forever young,

Forever young, forever young,

May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,

May your feet always be swift,

May you have a strong foundation

When the winds of changes shift.

May your heart always be joyful,

May your song always be sung,

May you stay forever young,

Forever young, forever young,

May you stay forever young.

at least in spirit if not physically.

Bésame Mucho (in French) - Avalon Jazz Band

I can not work out how to post the video 🤐

Quote

Ms. Velázquez was born in Ciudad Guzmán, Mexico, in 1916. (She sometimes gave the date as 1920.) Trained as a concert pianist, she wrote the original Spanish lyrics for "Bésame Mucho" when she was 25 and, as she liked to say, had never been kissed.

The song's haunting melody, which Ms. Velázquez also wrote, is based on the aria "Quejas, o la Maja y el Ruiseñor" ("Plaints, or the Maiden and the Nightingale"), from the 1916 opera "Goyescas," by the Spanish composer Enrique Granados.

Ms. Velázquez's lyrics have a simple dramatic urgency: Bésame, bésame mucho,/Como si fuera esta noche la última vez ("Kiss me, kiss me a lot,/as if tonight were the last time").

The English lyrics (Bésame, bésame mucho,/Each time I cling to your kiss, I hear music divine) add a generous dollop of schmaltz.

That's because that function was recently turned off by me. Read more about it in THIS thread.

I seem to have lost the art of posting videos here again, tried several ways and gave up. 😱

It was disabled a while ago. I have requested it to be re-enabled and SB is looking into it. It will be done! 😉

I asked that links instead of embedded YouTube videos be posted. Some of us use old hardware and it takes forever to load a page with all the YouTube videos. I ended up  not even looking in this thread.

People, if they want, can copy and paste a link to see a video.
