Love it. As a matter of fact, I haven't watched it in quite a while. Maybe I'll fire up the DVDs later this week.

Yeah, I never watched it when it was actually being broadcast. Years later, Donna, a member from my board, mentioned how much she and her family loved the show. I checked it out on Hulu, and after watching a couple episodes there, I ordered the whole shebang from Amazon. Great stuff! I'm amazed that it got canceled by Fox, yet they leave on most of that other silly carp on that network. :(

Make sure you watch them in the order the producer intended.

When they were broadcast, the execs decided to re-order the episodes and totally borked the story.

It's like the Johnny Cash song, "A Boy Named Sue".

You'd be tough to if you went through life with a name like Jayne!

it's so sick how hollywood thinks.

Fromm favorite episode.

Vera! :D

From Our Mrs. Reynolds:

[Jayne is walking menacingly towards Mal with a large gun]

Jayne: Six men came to kill me one time. And the best of 'em carried this. It's a Callahan full-bore auto-lock. Customized trigger, double cartridge thorough gauge. It is my very favorite gun.

[he holds the gun out to Mal]

Mal: [exclaims in Chinese] You offering me a trade?

Jayne: A trade? ****, it's theft. This the best gun made by man. It has *extreme* sentimental value. It's miles more worthy 'n what you got!

Mal: What I got? She has a name.

Jayne: So does this. I call it Vera.

Mal: Well, my days of not takin' ya seriously are certainly comin' to a middle.

Yes, the movie, Serenity made in 2005 was very good and filled in some areas for me; especially about the Reavers.

I loved both Firefly TV series and the movie Serenity.

Now I want the comics!

Chronology

Preceded by

The Shepherd's Tale (comic)

Followed by

Those Left Behind (comic)

Better Days (comic)

Serenity (film)

They can stand on their own, but for those that watch in order, there is a benefit. ;)

I take it that if I watch, I'm to watch in this order?

http://en.wikipedia....oadcast_history

Yes, I think that is the order they are presented in the DVD box set and what Joss Whedon intended.

Speaking of the Firefly if you go back and watch the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica mini-series from 2003 there's a scene on Caprica and in the background sky you will see a Firefly-class ship flying by. :)
