From the Blackberry site:

Integral security features and an ever-expanding administrative toolset have earned BlackBerry® products the trust of some of the most secure organizations in the world. These security features have also made the BlackBerry solution a world leader in mobile security certifications.

A primary security concern now is how to protect devices when they’re used both personally and professionally. Research In Motion (RIM) continues to develop tools that provide businesses with peace of mind. BlackBerry® Balance™ technology offers protection for company data and networks without compromising the end-user experience. This means businesses can protect their assets while letting employees install their favorite applications.

Built-in security in the PlayBook

Enterprises have the ability to manage PlayBook tablets from a centralized server. The BlackBerry® PlayBook™ OS 2.0 and later makes approved enterprise apps easily available to an organization's end users through the BlackBerry App World™ storefront. The BlackBerry PlayBook OS also uses sandboxing to separate and restrict the capabilities and permissions of apps that run on the tablet. Each application process runs in its own sandbox, and the BlackBerry PlayBook OS is designed to evaluate the requests an application's processes make for access outside of its sandbox.

Security is for everyone

BlackBerry smartphone users can increase the security of their email messages and help protect the data stored on their smartphones, including files on the media card.

BlackBerry smartphones can also help users be smart about their apps. Automatic and optional controls can prevent the installation of apps that might harm the BlackBerry smartphone and limit what apps have access to on the smartphone.

BOLD emphasis mine

confusing as they refer to RIM , so don't quite understand if current offerings of Q10 have same features of built in encryption.
