Temmu
greets, ladies and gents! loaded siduction on a vmdk disk on virtualbox! considering i only gave siduction 1gb of ram, it's pretty snappy. the user interface is clean, but some of the dialogs behind the clean menus harken back to earlier, grayer debian boxes. obviously, i like the fact it's debian based, which, i trust, means stable. (then again, what linux isn't stable? ) i recall someone here mentioning it, so i've got it!
sunrat
I use and recommend this product. I like how you can choose betwen full KDE, light LXDE or Xfce, or experimental Razor-Qt. Which one are you using, Temmu?
ichase
Sunrat, you beat me to the punch, was just about to type that you use Siduction and one of the biggest fans of Debian here. Might need to take a test drive on VM sometime. Razor-Qt, have not heard of the DE or is it a WM?
Guest LilBambi
Razor-qt Other Screenshots (I like the one with the dark task bar area but I would have it with my own background) About Razor-qt Razor-qt is an advanced, easy-to-use, and fast desktop environment based on Qt technologies. It has been tailored for users who value simplicity, speed, and an intuitive interface. Unlike most desktop environments, Razor-qt also works fine with weak machines. While still a new project, Razor-qt already contains the key DE components: Panel Desktop Application launcher Settings center Sessions You can use either all of them or part of them. Razor-qt works with various WMs, most of Razor developers use Openbox. But it's no problem to take any modern WM from fwwm2 to kwin (yes, KDE without Plasma Desktop is possible too). Razor-qt is a new open-source project and you can help us improve it. We welcome your bug reports and suggestions; you are free to translate all into your own language, create more attractive graphics, anything. Sounds very interesting. Guest LilBambi
But where's the version for straight Debian!?!
sunrat
See my other siduction thread for screenshot of siduction-razor-qt. Sorry, Fran, but it will be a while before it is available for Debian stable. Sid repos only have version 0.4.1 atm, while siduction has 0.5. Guest LilBambi
Thanks. Oh well. Will have to eventually try out one of the Distros that does have it. Maybe Fedora.
