amenditman
I wonder if we can get it to run Linux. Arch Slate anyone?
securitybreach
Well they already have a 500gb model that came out last year: http://www.amazon.co...Q/ref=de_a_smtd If the new one also runs an atom processor, it should have no problem running the Linux as it works on LinuxMint
amenditman
It does say that it will be x86 processor, not ARM, so it is very likely some sibling of Atom as we know it.
Guest LilBambi
Could be one of the newer ones too? Ivy Bridge with vendor lockin, errrr, security built in? Edited May 1, 2012 by LilBambi
ross549
Well, if it runs windows 8, HP will likely enable secure boot in order to be able to put the windows 8 sticker on it. No other OSs will boot on it....... Adam
Guest LilBambi
Right... But it should give the user the ability to turn that off in the bios. But sadly no one will be surprised if they don't on the tablets...sigh... They better not try to pull that on desktops, laptops, netbooks.
