Nice job Quint . . . . . you're way ahead . . . got still 12 minutes on the HD install to go . . . B)( was there a choice to yes or no install Lilo ? ):) Bruno
No...just wherever you want to install it. :) I didn't see any selection to create a "boot disk", however. :)

Well that is two down right? Quint and Bruno? I am only 15 minutes away from burning my CD. I have the disc out sitting and waiting. Might even go ahead and warm up the burner. :)--Julia :)

I am in such good shape that I had labeled a CD getting ready to burn it on one computer and without thinking put it in the other burner and put PcLinuxOS - Preview 5 on it instead! I guess it pays to quickly label after burning!

Owyn,Recalling BUG number 2 . . . opening a stream in Kafeine works fine this time . . . no freezeUpdate on BUG number 1 . . . This only happens if the filemanager opens on the /boot directory . . . if the default is /home/bruno the CPU is okay . . . once open and switching to /boot . . the CPU jumps to 99% again.:) Bruno

I booted with:
livecd alsa xres=1280x1024

And still nothing...... Kmid is not showing my wavetable synth on the audigy card.

Adam. Please boot WITHOUT alsa option and run soundchk.sh.Need to see the default config for your system.

I downloaded ISO, burned it and tried booting off of it but no success :(I am at work and I am using two PC's I could find around (all Mac environment). One of the PC's is already running Mandrake 9.2 without problems, the other is Win2000 server. On a Mandrake one I get so many error messages and can't boot at all, nothing. It would be too much to start listing all errors. On second one with Win2000 server, which is by the way all SCSI PC, I get this during the boot:

Probing SCSI Devices      [Loaded]Finding Loop Image:  /dev/cdroms/cdrom0/linuxrc:452: Mount: : Not Found                          [FAILED]ERROR: Unable to find the compressed CD Filesystem, dropping you to a limited shell.
Once in limited shell, it does not react to any command but "exit" and then gives me kernel panicIt's not big deal as I'll try it tonight at home on my PC's and post back result, I just wanted to check it out @#$!#
