It is taking an awfully long time to get a screen up when quoting a long post. Also taking a long time to submit a new post. I think it took me over 2 minutes on the last one to get the post done and returned to its display....

The board seems to be loading fine, but I do notice quite a bit of delay when posting a message...Edit - I say that and then this post loads in a flash!

I've also been getting the time-outs (like we had a few months back before switching to Linux server. After submitting a post, wait a while and then get a screen saying:Cannot find server or DNS ErrorInternet Explorer Hit F5/refresh on this screen. Forum comes up at index level and post is in the list.

Don't feel too badly ibe98765, I think something is broken somewhere! Or something!I can't even get to my website or my isp's website.I can get to my client's sites no problem, as well as google, paypal, my bank, the earthquake site, newspaper sites, and most other sites this morning, but there is something broken between my ISP and me.Funny thing is, my email appears to be going out. Not 100% sure though, because I don't remember getting too much email since about 7am this morning, but it doesn't fail sending.Weird.

Fran are you using the same hosting company as Scot?I would have to think the posting issues are with the mysql since the browsing of the site isn't slow - today seems much better so far.

I find this issue very strange... I have absolutely no slow down on either of my net connections when browsing or posting messages.Have any of those noticing the slow down while posting, cleaned their net cache and cookies, and logged back in to see if that changes anything? Might help.

Also have to wonder… if there is a issue with the MySQL database then why wouldn’t browsing the forum be slowed down? After all, when you view threads it references the database. Yes writing to the db take a little more oomph, but still.

havnblast, no, my website is currently on the space provided by my ISP.But the mystery is solved with my ISP. Their main server is down.Thankfully all my clients websites are on servers elsewhere with lots of redundancy and backup. Looks like I may be moving my site there soon too, LOL! :whistling: Haven't had any trouble getting to any place else on the web today including the SFNL forums. That part seems to have settled down. When I post this message, I will see how the posting time is now. ;) Yeah, I would have thought the MYSQL database too, except for ibe98765's DNS error and not being able to find the server error. Thanks and keep any errors you do receive coming.

Well, I was actually multi-tasking with the first one of the two posts LOL! But I just wanted to report back that if optimizing some of the tables makes that big a difference, we should put it on a schedule. ;) Posts still going really fast, like when we first moved to Linux! :whistling: Thanks Arena2045! Running a test here to see if it posts better...Update - seems a bit better.. about 1.5 seconds from pushing the button to having it appear...

Getting a little slow again on last few posts. Not as bad as previously but there is a marked delay after pressing submit compared to yesterday....-Edited-Took about 15 seconds to get this posted after pressing submit. I was watching the status progress bar slowly fill for about 10 seconds. After the post happened, it took another 3-5 seconds before the progress bar cleared.
