havnblast Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Ok - running RedHat 8.0 here and with linux it has more than one browser. I mainly use Mozilla 1.3 and Phoenix but the question is I install Java and Flash pluggins that are working in Mozilla, but how do I get the other browsers to recognize those pluggins? Phoenix and Konquerer don't see the pluggins - any idea? Quote
Bruno Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Havnblast:I only know about konqueror but I guess it is about the same for Phoenix:First: Mozilla plugins (flashplayer and java) are located in /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3/pluginsIn konqueror: go to Settings > Configure Konqueror > (in left kolom ) Netscape plugingsThere you can scan for plugins ( the easy way) , or direct to /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3/plugins.In mine there are the following entries:$HOME/.netscape/plugins/usr/local/netscape/plugins/opt/netscape/plugins/opt/netscape/communicator/plugins/usr/lib/netscape/plugins/usr/lib/netscape/plugins-libc5/usr/lib/netscape/plugins-libc6/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins$MOZILLA_HOME/pluginsHope this helps you,Bruno Quote
robka Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 For flash you can copy flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so from /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3/plugins to the phoenix/plugins directory where you installed Phoenix. Mine is in my home directory ~/phoenix/plugins.For java I linked /usr/java/j2re1.4.0/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji140.so to ~/phoenix/plugins (I used konqueror to drag and drop then selected link). You Java location may be different.Do you know about the MozillaZine Forums? Quote
Agent007 Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 You need to install the plugin ... go to netscape sitehttp://wp.netscape.com/plugins/index.htmlall plugins are listed there download and install the same Quote
