Strangers Pay To Send You E-Mail

Recommended Posts

Ran across this article By Internetweek.com "Blue Squirrel on Wednesday introduced technology that uses several techniques to stop spam, including requiring senders to pay to send you e-mail. Spam Sleuth 2.0 includes technology called "e-mail stamps," which allows the user to set a payment rate to receive e-mail from unknown senders, and receive payments using PayPal or any major credit card. The software also includes Bayesian filters, a mail-sorting technique that uses a form of statistical analysis to separate spam from legitimate mail. ("Review: Open-Source Software Accurately Sorts Your Mail") The software automatically configures itself to the user's e-mail accounts. It removes executable attachments, provides detailed reports, permits setup of multiple e-mail accounts, and works with all POP3 e-mail accounts and clients, along with MSN Web mail, AOL, free HotMail, and free Yahoo mail. The software is available now, priced at $29.95 for a single-user license, with a 60-day trial version available. "One could make a livin if all spam companies had to pay to spam ya - what a great idea.
