Recommended Posts

I would not know other then the table on this page: http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=pclinuxos where it compares the tools in PCLos 2007-test2 ,0.93a , 0.92 and 0.91 ( Tip: Change vieuw to All tracked packages (194) )Sure you can read the reviews:http://www.seopher.com/articles/a_picture_...uxos_2007_beta2http://www.tuxmachines.org/node/12764But I guess that is not what you are looking for ;);) Bruno

The majr difference between .93 and .94 is the change from gcc 3.4 to 4.0. This required all the packages to be recompiled. This also is forcing the required re-install.Adam

Not knowing what gcc meant, I did my usual "run to google" and discovered it means gnu compiler collection. If you want to do some reading Temmu, here are the manualshttp://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/ ;) I think I'll take Adam's word for it that 4 is different enough from 3 that it requires a new install rather than an update.

Since we concluded in linux written in what language? that most programs are written in C . . . . you can imagine that the C compiler is a pretty essential part of of a Linux distro. Background info: How C Programming Works;) Bruno
