We were in Australia for 5 weeks and Hawaii for one and I used internet cafes exclusively. Before we left, I researched the locations (street addresses) of all cafes in the cities we were going to. I had no trouble locating facilities except in Hawaii. The the hotel offered access but the price wasn't what I was willing to pay. We did find a local run internet cafe downtown and the price was right.What countries so I can do a little digging at Freedomlist? http://www.gonuts4free.co.uk/ although the site says UK and Spain, a poster at FL was able to get help to get access for a holiday in Italy. Guest LilBambi Posted June 23, 2006 Share Posted June 23, 2006 T/As, Flying J, and many Star Bucks, and other places all over the US have WiFi available for short stints as well as longer ones.But you can't rely on that in other countries necessarily.So a dialup alternative such as cellphone connection maybe would be worth looking into? Nope...Many if not most of the small no-name coffee shops offer free WiFi to attract customers and to compete against the giants like Starbucks. I have found out that the person needing this will be working in Paris, France and nowhere else, which makes this easier. I recommended they see if he can get a hotel that has Internet access in the room. If not I recommended they find some Internet cafe's or investigate a Paris ISP for dial-up service. There are 197 hits! If she takes a notebook, have her look over the list and select either a hotel listed here to stay at, or print out the coffee shops in the area.
