maineike Posted January 10, 2006 Share Posted January 10, 2006 initially when i tweaked my computer, i eliminated compression from the registry.symantec updates puts compressed files in the "all users directery" each time an update is downloadedanother 3k file is inserted.i have recently updated norton security from 2004 to 2006. will deleting all previous downloaded compressed files hurt anything? norton tells me not to touch any old files, but since they go back to august of 2004, i wonder if deleting them hurts anything.also in that compressed section are 3 large "core" files created when i updated java.
