Using Nero 6.3 to create ISO Image from CDROM

How do I create an ISO image from a CDROM using Nero 6.3? In Sept 2004, there was a thread:Nero Discussionwhich sort of addressed this. One respondant stated:"Start up the disk copy, and then go to more | Save Tracks | select your drive (if you've got more than one) and then in the output file format, you can choose ISO"I believe this refered to a version prior to Nero 6.3. When I click on the Copy CD menu button and see the dialog, there is no "More" option or tab. I found a "Save tracks" option; however, it does not permit me to select ISO as an Output file option. Unfortunately it offers only .NRG and various audio formats. I know that version 5.5 made ISO creation easy. Surely, 6.3 can do so.I am using the retail version (not OEM) of Nero 6.3.thanks

These are my notes (I don't have a version but I think it might be 6)1. Launch Nero and choose Recorder/Burn Image2. Browse to the location of the ISO and select the file you want to burn3. Check the option Finalize CD (no further writing possible)4. Click Burn Now.Sorry I don't have Nero installed (my burner was acting flaky) so I can't double-check my notes.

Do you want to burn an ISO image? Or are you wanting to create an ISO image from a CD? Sorry, I'm not much help here, but I read the post to be the latter and not the first.Nero Express (5.6) will only save to an *.nrg file format. I'm sure there are commercial tools available to save a cd to an ISO format. There is program called ISO Buster that might be able to do what you're looking for (last I knew it was around $30). The fully enabled version can do much more than just extract files from a cd or an ISO image. I've used it a few times to get at a few "hidden" files to make my own bootable slipstream windows 2000 sp4 cd from my OEM cd. Good luck.

OK...I guess I wasn't clear. I know how to write an ISO image to a CDROM. I want to extract an ISO from a CDROM. I want to create an ISO file from the contents of the CDROM. When using Nero 5.5, this is easy and well-documented. I want to create an ISO image so that it is transportable to be burned to a CDROM using an application other than Nero.I do not wish to purchase a third-party application, such as ISOmagic or WinISO if Nero can create an ISO image file. Given that Nero 5.5 was able to do so, I would believe that Nero 6.3 should as well.I appreciate your help.

I just tried one with Nero Burning Rom 6 and it seemed to work. Choose CD ISO NEW to start, then drag the CD you want to the compilation screen. Choose 'Image Recorder' from the drop down and when you hit burn choose ISO from the drop down (instead of .nrg), give it a name and save it where you want.Or maybe this free app will do it.http://www.lucersoft.com/freeware.php

I'm using Nero 6.6. I have found this behavior of Nero to be very confusing and frustrating. It appears that a way (the only way?) to create an ISO file from a CD-ROM in Nero is use the "Save Track" feature. I'm not sure how to get into that dialog in the full 'Burning ROM' program, but from the 'Nero Express' program follow these steps: 1) Press the "More >>" button 2) Press the "Save Tracks" button 3) Select the CD-ROM drive that has the disc you want to create an ISO file for. 4) Select the track you want to have in the ISO image (I'm not sure if the ISO option will work for multi-track CD-ROMs) 5) Select "ISO image File (*.iso)" in the "Output file format:" drop down combo-box. 6) Press "GO"I have no idea why Ahead will not allow you to select an ISO output format when using the Image Recorder; that seems like the intuitive way to do this. And why do they not provide some simple way to convert a .NRG format image into an ISO image (at least for those images that do not use features not supported by the ISO format)?mwb1100

MagicISO is recommend. Try to use MagicISO to create iso image from CDROM. It is a good ISO creator. It works fine for me.http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-overview.htm
