from what i see, about 1/4 of the cars on the roads are driverless.
(reading books, texting, putting on makeup, eating, ipad usage. distracted, enraged, can't maneuver, car in disrepair... don't know rules of the road, can't read signs, won't obey signs or lights...)
yes, driverless would be an advantage.
