Dear Experts

I have got a client who has windows 2008 server (Standalone not domain) , he is looking to share only one specific folder on the C drive to a remote user over the internet (our scenario isn't a shared folder within a LAN).

The remote user s working as an accountant and he needs to download and upload files to that shared folder, for other employees to be able to see those files later on if they want to do so.

UVNC and TeamViewer are not a solution, because the remote user will be able to access and see all other folders and files.

Apart from VPN is there any other solution ?

Regards

Dropbox. Create a Dropbox account specifically for this. Install the Dropbox client on the server and set it's sync folder to the one you wish to share. Give the client the login details for the account.

Dropbox also has a shared folder feature to publish links to shared documents. There are similar services like SugarSync you might also look into.

OpenVPN is also a good solution with bridging mode.

Spideroak is fully encrypted and private. 2GB free, and you can sync between the two computers.

Why introduce a 3rd party , especially for sensitive data, when it can just be done right there with no fuss and no muss ? W2008 Server is already installed there, it comes with ftp .
