My I got my first and last tattoo today. I was thinking about it a few months ago and finally made the plunge. It is on my right bicep in the middle of the outside of my arm:

Later on, I made add some of the value like this one: https://imgur.com/AWpwA  but I dunno as it was quite painful.

I think I may be a geek  :hysterical:

I would love to have some tattoos... just haven't ever been able to justify the cost. I not used to having that kind of disposable income. :(

Pi, huh? COOL! :)

Yes it is Pi :)

As far as the costs, I only had to pay $80 for the tattoo. B)

That's an excellent price. Something like that would be $150+, at least, in most shops here in Tampa. :(

Well these guys are from L.A (Westcoast Tattoos) and they did both of my cousin's (arm) sleeves. He knows these guys really well as has sent them a lot of business, so they cut me a deal. The guy that did my work said it would normally be between $120-140. It was a little crazy as these guys had tattoos from their head to their feet including their faces.

That's known as "ink addiction". I have a few biker pals like that.

Once I get another motorcycle and take that trip to your neck of the woods, I'll plan on stopping in where you did and maybe get a discount, too. :)

Excellent, my door's always open for you Eric. Of course, you already know that ;)

Also, any good tips on the healing process? I know a few tips like:
  • Do not let it get exposed to direct sunlight for a few weeks
  • No swimming for a month or so
  • Keep a thin layer of ointment (tattoo artist said to use Aquaphor) on it for a week
  • Use hand lotion on it after the first week
  • Do not pick off scabs (I am lucky to not have any. I guess he was good!!)
The guy that did my tattoo just said to remove the bandage off after an hour, apply Aquaphor for a week, do not go swimming and keep it covered when in the sun for a week.

I was a bit hopped up on endorphins after the tattoo was finished so I may have missed something. I know you have some tattoos so I though maybe you have some good tips.

BTW Here is a picture of the tattoo 30 hours later:

I think it is healing nicely.

Thanks for your input!! B)

No. I don't have any tattoos. That's why I'm really jealous of you. ;) I'd have a few by now if I had had the money to spend, though. Something for after I hit that lottery.

Some good info here, Josh --> http://tattoo.about....blaftercare.htm

Thanks a lot!! That is pretty much exactly what I have been doing and have read online. Although, your link seems to outline the start to finish process for caring for a new tattoo. After reading that information, I feel like I have been doing a good job caring for my new tattoo.

I dunno why I thought that you had tattoos? I guess I figured that since you are one of those "long-haired biker types" (well you cut your hair), that you had some tattoos. :hysterical:

Fair assumption. Were it not for the $$$ issue, I'd have a few, I'm sure. Oh, and the hair is back. I haven't cut it in nearly two years. I'll have to take a more recent pic of myself to post on my website, I guess. I'm a long-haired (currently bikeless) biker. ;)

Yeah, I wish I still had my long hair (used to be shoulder length all the way around and kept in a pony tail) but I cannot stand the ugly stages your hair has to go through to get back long. It is easier to just keep my head buzzed than to grow it back out.

HAHA! Yeah, there is that "unmanageable" stage where your hair is just not long enough for a pony tail, but just long enough to be handing down in your face all the time. I'm well past that stage, thankfully. My solution to the awkward stage is a hat. All that said, short hair is definitely easier to take care of... just not as cool, dude. ;)
