audi's satnavs warned drivers of pending air raid affecting the a4 in west london.

The fact that the German car manufacturer's satnav systems have an air raid warning option points to the possibility that Angela Merkel intends to resolve the eurozone crisis in the time-honoured local tradition.  :hysterical:

The injection is trivial to carry out. While TMC specs employ encryption, it is used for discrimination and not authentication, and the key can be broken by sampling a small amount of data. Also facilitating injection: terminals that use encryption are still expected to accept unencrypted data.

Well if that can happened, they might as well be in the clear. That's nuts.

They don't use encryption for authentication as well?! Sheesh ... have to be really clear...when we say encrypted we mean encrypted data and authentication. Sheesh....

there is a new system, but it's years out, and all the existing systems have to die off before this ceases to be a problem.
