it appears that both flame and stuxnet were authored by teams that at the very least, collaborated.

Indeed!!!
I read about this the other day and figured that is was true but now we know a lot more. I wonder how other countries think about the US government using cyberwarfare to obtain their goals? Will this give them an excuse to launch their own cyberattacks?
