So Belkin sells a lock & cable to secure one's netbook. Reading the product description ,
Lock down your company notebooks with unique, individual keys and locks for each computer and a master key that opens all the locks
unsure.gif they give everybody a master key to open all the locks they sell?
so a thief can buy one and then use the master key to unlock other peoples notebooks?
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. ~C. S. Lewis

I don't think any lock will stop a determined thief, only a casual one.

For example, I locked myself out of the house one day with the keys inside. I ended up calling a locksmith to pick the lock. He said it would be cheaper for him to simply drill out the tumblers and replace the lock than attempt to pick it. Elapsed time: 5 minutes.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.
