Why Linux will never be factor on the desktop

Do yourself a favor and stick with Linux servers. The desktop OS market is a two-horse race, and Linux was not invited to the party

PC World - Linux is awesome. It's a powerful, capable, flexible operating system with tremendous potential. But, it's never going to be a factor on the desktop, so don't even waste your time considering it.

For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.

I think I've read that article before.  It seems like somebody writes it about once or twice a year.

My 2 desktops are doing just fine with Linux.  I have a 3rd, but it's essentially headless.

if i must use ms office, then true, i must use ms windows or mac os.

if, however, i must get work done, there's precious little that can't be done on a linux desktop pc or laptop.

and, "they" claim all linux oss are < 1%?  kinda hard to believe - europe is leading the charge, generating headlines quite often, this or that government or agency is now 100% linux.

as to desktop vs mobile, there's all sorts of work i can do on my twin-22" monitors that would be otherwise impossible on my ipad, much less, smart phone!

stick that in your pipe and smoke it, mr. naysayer!
