I hope the judge holds the lawyers and company execs personally responsible for frivolous lawsuits and everyone's time that is wasted.

well, it is and it isn't. There were still items left over when SCO was determined to be full of crock, mostly dealing with IBM's complaints against SCO.
They probably need to do this in order to finish up the bankruptcy process of SCO.
