Got a call yesterday from my neighbor a couple of houses up the street. His Canon MX412 wifi printer wasn't working. He called the ISP support and they advised him to push the WPS button on his gateway and then on the printer.
I haven't used this method but it does no harm - it just reassociates the printer with the gateway using the existing wifi password. It didn't fix his problem though.
I checked the Devices and Printers in Control Panel and he had the default set to an old Canon MX150 USB printer that he got rid of years ago. How that happened nobody knows. I set the default to his current printer and removed the old one from the Printers list. He was printing in seconds. End of service call.
