Hulu with new Kubuntu

Trying out the new Kubuntu and I'm having a problem trying to watch Hulu in Chrome. I have the Flash Player + extension installed but when I try to play something I get the error saying I need to install Flash.

Chrome doesn't use flash. Chrome uses the built in pepperflash plugin so more than likely you are having conflicting issues.

Now if you want to disable the built in pepperflash and use flash instead (flash is a lot buggier and is not updated for linux anymore):

I didn't have any extension installed to begin with and still got the error. I'm going to uninstall Chrome and re-install and see what happens.

Seems the pepper plugin isn't installed by default in this Kubuntu version of Chrome. Had to do an apt-get to install it. Working now.

Thanks

It must of been chromium not chrome. Chromium is the open source version and is the same except it lacks pepper flash and PDF reader

Didn't realize there was a difference. Learn something new everyday. Now if I can just get my Bluetooth headset to work, Kubuntu might be useable. The bluetooth manager in Mint allows me to select the device for the sound output but I can't find where to do that in Kubuntu. The headset pairs with no problem but the sound still goes the speakers instead of the headset.

I'm at work right now but maybe I can help you when I get home

Thanks but I found it. Chromium has its own volume control and an option to move its output to the different devices.

Note also, Lew, most Chrome Store addons and themes work fine with Chromium.

I started using Chromium a year or so ago after just getting sick and tired of Firefox updates, bloat, and resource hogging. I've never regretted it. Chromium/Chrome is wonderful!

Have fun with it!
