saturnian
http://symplepc.com/products/symplepc Only $89 bucks. I'd like to see more of this type of thing out there. It could be really crappy -- "you get what you pay for" -- but I do like the price.
securitybreach
Neat. I like how you could get more than advertised so it is like a grab bag of sorts. The price isn't bad either but there are other places you can get them for cheaper. For instance, here is a refurbished (like they sale) DELL OptiPlex P4 for $69.99 but it comes with windows instead of linux.
saturnian
No optical drive on that Symple PC...
securitybreach
Honestly I really do not use my optical drive at all. Once in a blue moon I will burn something for someone else but other than that, I use only usb drives.
zlim
I have 3 computers (netbooks) in the house with no optical drive. One runs linux and the other two 7. I bought a $30 external DVD burner on the rare occasions I might want to use a disc. Most of the time I load things on an sd card because they all have a slot. I find myself writing ISO to USB sticks rather than waste a CD or DVD.
