Is this excessive?

EVGA has developed the world's first 4-way SLI motherboard.linkI took a quick glance at the specs it is one helluva impressive motherboard. It is loaded with features and there's no doubt it is a power hungry motherboard. There's 7 PCI-e slots and noticeably larger than standard ATX motherboards. They're calling it XL-ATX.The manufacturer recommends a 1500 watt PSU for 4-way SLI configurations.I love hardware but this is quite excessive in my opinion.

The gamers will love it. However, I don't think there are even many games out here that could perform up to the level of that hardware.

With a need for 1500 W power supply it will probably be a great space heater. :hysterical:

Ouch!!! Over a thousand dollars for the MB, case and PSU before adding drives, RAM, CPU, HSF, and GPU/s. And, as Eric said, there are no current games capable of using the power of a fully built-out PC like this one.Just for kicks, I made a wishlist at NewEgg to build a PC based on the EVGA MB: My Wish List Details dream onQty. To be expected... the Finnish month names are rather descriptive... after "Mud Month" (October) comes "Dead Month" (November)... followed by – yikes! – "Yule Month".
